Who to follow on Twitter – Let me begin by saying, I am biased:  I expect marketing experts, social media advocates and promoters of services, classes, books and various training material on building platforms and promoting businesses to be excellent Tweeters.

So you are not going to see Chris Brogan, Michael Hyatt, Seth Godin, or any other of my “go-to” people on this list.  Yes, I follow them, and I love their content, but I expect their content to be excellent.  Right, wrong or other – I expect good stuff from these people.  This post provides a list that includes a handful of people who continue to WOW me.  They tweet because they want to.  They tweet to connect with their fans, followers, clients,  friends, and family, and they do it well.

#1 favorite person that I follow on Twitter:  Flea @flea333 .  Best known as the bassist from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he is among the most sincere, consistent, appreciative, and genuine people on Twitter.

#2 favorite person whom I follow, is @MilfordTwitTalk.  Not only is @MilfordTwitTalk a great communicator, but she takes a great deal of care in promoting and connecting with the community.  @MilfordTwitTalk is the best example of how to use Twitter for building and maintaining community spirit.

#3 is rather unconventional, as far as Twitter goes.  Connecting Directors @CDfuneralnews is a Twitter account designed to keep funeral directors up to speed on some of the trends within their industry.  A light hearted, informative, and sympathetic combination of tweets, include links to information for directors, including how to leverage social media, web, and other means of communication for themselves, and the families of their clients.  (I’m not sure how I should refer to the deceased person… “client?”).

Most Twitter feeds are viewable by anyone.  You do not need a Twitter account to read most tweets.  I wish VINE were like this, so I could share more VINE videos without having to tweet them.  And I’d really like to view VINE videos on my computer, in a similar way that I view tweets.

Take a look at these fantastic Tweeters, and please leave some of your favorites in the comments, below.

A twitter favorite is @pourmecoffee. I never know what to expect. Frequent tweets include political comments and culture references, science/nature facts and photos. I like his biting wit on topical issues. Tweets are always interesting and often laugh-out-loud funny.
