There are many tips and tricks that make daily life a little easier. Some kitchen shortcuts take almost no extra time, and cost zero dollars.
Pre-slicing your butter or margarine falls into this category.
How to do it:
Whenever you replace or open a new stick of butter, margarine, or butter substitute, take a small knife and slice the stick into pats. Slice the entire stick.
Now, when you need a pat or two or three, they are ready to go. Don’t need much? Take half a pat, which is much easier to cut than a tiny sliver from a big stick.
